Dusting
Lying on the grass
Staring up at the sky
Watching all the birds
As they fly by.
"Hey, little girl,
Time to quit dreaming.
Come into the house,
And get them knick-knacks gleaming!"
I grumble to myself,
"Dusting has to be
The worst job ever
In all of history!"
But in the house I go
To do what has to be done.
Time to make a game of it,
Try to make it fun.
Talking to myself,
And the salt 'n pepper shakers too,
I dust the shelves and knick-knacks
Until I am completely through.
